Last weekend the fourth edition of Eroica Limburg was a huge success.
The organisers are looking back at Eroica Limburg with in their words “the best edition so far.”
A 1000 Eroica riders rode under extreme sunny and warm circumstances one of four unique routes through Limburg, Belgium and Germany.
The weekend was kicked off with the so called ‘Worlds ride’ bringing a tribute to the rich world-championships cycling history in Limburg. During this ride the Eroica organization officially renamed a street after the latest Amstel Gold Race winner Mathieu van der Poel. On Saturday morning the start was given at 7.00h for the riders of the 200km route. At 10.00h all participants were underway for their heroic ride through Limburg.
On the route the Eroica Peloton was welcomed by the cycling crazy people of Limburg. On the several food stops on the route the riders received local delicacies and the Primus Haacht Super8 Flandrien beer.
We would like to thank all sponsor and the municipalities of Valkenburg aan de Geul, Eijsden-Margraten and Simpelveld for their support of Eroica Limburg. Also a big thank you to all volunteers, staff and the hosts of the various food stops on the route.
Organisers Iwan and Richard are very pleased with this edition. "All pieces fell into place this year. The weather, the preparations, the ambiance and the guests which came from all over the world made sure that this edition of Eroica Limburg is the best edition so far”, according to Iwan and Richard.
